UNIT 5 6th GRADE ALL AROUND THE WORLD IN ENGLISH

In this unit we are going to learn more about the history of the countries we are working with. To do so we are going to create a script using questions and answers in the simple past to create a video about the main facts and periods of the history of English speaking countries. 

I am very proud to share the podcast my 6th grade students are recording about history.

HISTORY IN THE ENGLISH CLASS. ARTS AND CRAFTS

This is a task created by the students of 6th grade, A and B,  for the project History in the English class. It was made in the Arts and Crafts area. 

The 1st activity was to select images related to the history period each group were working with. We talked about the rights of use of the images and we tried to use banks of free images but as we were having problems with the net, we chose the images from google images. 

The 2nd activity was to edit the images with PICSART, they had to include texts in the image and another sort of edition. 

The 3rd activity was to include audio or video information to the images using the app THINGLINK. 

We were using some ipads lent by the CFR of Vigo.

We were working in teams with cooperative structures. I am really proud of my students, they worked hard, all of them were enthusiastic, curious, creative and showed a great respect for the work of the other groups. I am very lucky to be their teacher. 

Esta es una tarea creada por los estudiantes de 6º A y B para el proyecto History in the English Class. Se hizo en el área de plástica. 

La 1º actividad fue seleccionar imágenes relacionadas con el periodo de la historia con el cada grupo estaba trabajando. Hablamos sobre los derechos de uso de las imágenes e intentamos usar imágenes de bancos de imágenes de uso libre pero como la red nos dió problemas, elegimos las imágenes de Google Images. 

La segunda actividad fue editar las imágenes con la app PICSART, tenían que incluir texto en todas las imágenes y alguna otra edición. 

La 3ª actividad consistió en incluir información en audio o vídeo a las imágenes usando la app THINGLINK. 

Usamos unos ipads prestados por el CFR de Vigo. 

Estuvimos trabajando en equipos con estructuras de aprendizaje cooperativo. Estoy realimente orgullosa de mis alumnos y alumnas, trabajaron muy duro, todos lo hicieron con entusiasmo, curiosidad, creatividad y mostraron un gran respeto por el trabajo de los otros equipos. Tengo una suerte enorme de ser su teacher.
